NiNi, we love you!

Pics from last post...

First day of school: My camera wasn't working correctly so Mammie took lots more shots of the girls. I thought these were funny though, after I got my camera under control Addison was " sick of taking pictures, momma!". So this is her pouty look! Kadence was struggling, she realized she couldn't even pick her back pack up at all. She is so little it swallows her up.

The pics below are from NiNi's apartment after the decorating. She wanted the living room and kitchen to be strictly Crimson Tide oriented.

This wasn't a good pic of Daddy and Mammie but I wanted to show off my very first curtain attempt. It is definitely busy, but that is what she wanted! I thought I did pretty darn good for my first time!

You can imagine all the jokes and puns while decorating, especially with Bama (daddy) in the room!

Busy week & end......

Last weekend, I am just now getting a chance to sit down. I have no pics uploaded yet but they will come.

On Wed. the 12th Addison and Kadence started school. It was very sad for me. I knew this time would be harder with both going in. Kadence cried for me not to leave and I waited until the last possible moment. I was heartbroken and cried all the way to work. She, on the other hand, stopped crying as soon as I got out of sight (so the teacher says)! They both had a really good week but it was hard for them going back this Mon. after being with us all weekend. They are already learning and it amazes me so!

On Fri. I took off work to help my mom move my sister into her new apartment in Alexander City. She originally received an academic scholarship to CACC and could go to any campus. About two weeks before school started she received a call from the softball coach at the Alex City campus who wanted to interview her for the team manager's position. Needless to say she got the job and a full paid athletic scholarship. So we moved her stuff and decorated the whole thing and were all exhausted after.

I donated some furniture to the move and in turn got more room in my house. Last night I spent the entire evening deep cleaning my kitchen and rearranging appliances and furniture. Maybe soon I will have things like I want them. I am most excited about my upcoming ULTIMATE BEDROOM MAKEOVER! Bama is not so excited but he will deal!

We have it!

Our air conditioners were delivered yesterday morning. Thank the good Lord for the minds he made and the technology they produce! My dad and Bama installed them yesterday afternoon and not long after it was pure bliss. Unfortunately I have so much housework to do because we basically haven't been home for a week. It wasn't like vacation, before vacation I usually wash everything up and the air runs on low while we are gone and there is just time to prepare. This happening was a minor disaster, no time, no warning. We were able to go in for short periods of time, mainly to drop off dirty clothes and pick up clean ones. So for the next few days I will be up to my ears in chores!

Out of AIR

Thurs afternoon Bama gives me a call at work to ask if for some reason I have turned off the air conditioner at home. Why would I do that, I have lived in Alabama my entire life and never could I handle this humidity with no air conditioner, come on! So really why was he asking? well because he got home and the house was like and inferno and the central unit wasn't making a sound or blowing any air, that's why! GREAT!!!!!!! So he calls my dad ( Paw Paw ) out and they can tell what is wrong but don't know how to fix it. We make a few more calls but no luck. So Fri. morning I get on the phone and am calling for service people in our area. Our unit is over ten years old gives us too much hassle because of the age of our home, we usually end up cooling underneath the house better than inside. It is going to be an arm and a leg to fix so I make an executive decision, call AL Power and buy a new one! Well I say new ONE but I bought TWO. The salesman and I discuss to large window units because of the age of our home and the trouble we have had and the fact that in 21 months it will be strictly a rented out. So we decided the two units would be way better than what we had. I went down to sign the paperwork and ended up purchasing a new flat screen TV as well. SURPRISE Daddy! Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas.... Only bad news is that they couldn't deliver the items until the next Wed. which is tomorrow! All four of us have been sleeping on the coach at Mammie and Paw Paw's, fortunately they had gotten a new, very large, sectional two weeks before. Either way, this is why I haven't posted in a few days. I want my home, my bed, my stuff, my bathroom and my sewing machine. We should have just gotten a room at the Key West Inn in C'burg! I am about to pull my hair out with 7 people in one household! One more day.....

The Wedding….

Sorry it has been a while ,I will explain on my next post.

Anyway, rewind to the wedding if you will. After cleaning up the last few items from the yard sale, we rushed to get the girls from my grandparents and home to get showers and dressed up. I don’t know how but we all managed to dressed in time to go by my parents house before we left. Mammie and Paw Paw wanted to see us all gussied up before we went on to the church.

Kadence was cranky already from no nap and was absolutely not going to the wedding. Mammie offered for her to stay with them and Kadence begged until I gave in. I was also thinking this way I could focus on Addison a little more knowing that she might be squeamish when we arrived. She was oh so cute, fun and excited the entire drive. We got into the church and nothing seemed to bother her. Keeping in mind Addison didn’t have a nap either and we were at the church promptly at 3:00, the weeding didn’t begin until 5:55. The bridal party was running a little behind and they weren’t dressed when we got there. We went ahead a snapped a few shots while we were waiting.

Soon after a few pictures Addison started acting up a little, running in the church smarting off to me, not minding, ignoring me (which she is very good at)etc…… Then she began acting out more and more as the time progressed. I finally got her to sit down beside me on the pew, which wasn’t an easy task. I really tried to work with her, bargaining, promising, begging for her to be better. I even gave her the speech “ Now Addison, this is God’s house and God wants to see sweet girls in his house. You don’t want to upset God, he doesn’t like it when you are bad!” she quickly replies LOUDLY “ Momma…. I really don’t think I like God anymore!” I was so embarrassed. I assured her that what she had said wasn’t nice at all and that she really didn’t mean those ugly things that she was saying. Then she says “ well momma, I guess we’ll just have to have a talk about this when we get home, in my bed before night night prayers” oh yes we will and we did!

5:30 rolls around we are almost to the ceremony, she has only had a few more breakdowns. 1st she doesn’t want to wear her princess crown in front of the people. 2nd her pretty foot jewelry tickled her toes too badly and she couldn’t wear them “ I can’t momma, you don’t understand I just can’t!” I handed her off to her daddy and they lined up behind the door and it was all her from then on. The doors opened up and here she comes. She looked so cute throwing her flowers out. No headpiece and no foot pieces but still just as cute as ever. They make it to the stage and Ella decides it is time to let her mommy know that she is very hungry. So they twist and turn and they sit and stand. Addison wanders around the piano, the girls have a discussion about the petals in their basket. Addison isn’t happy with the basket just holding the petals, it would be much better if it held her head,
hear face

and her foot while showing her panties to the congregation. I know I make it sound terrible but it really wasn’t, it was so adorable, the kids were funny and we will always remember the things that they did.

We were just proud to be a part of it all, thanks to John and Lisa for including us!

A long weekend...... Part II

So Fri. afternoon went much better. The girls and I got a good long nap until Bama got home. We all got ready to go to the wedding rehearsal. Both girls seemed to be in a great mood, until we got to the church. They begin to practice and Addison decides she is NOT going to be a flower princess and will NOT have anything to do with anyone. She runs into the ladies bathroom and it takes us about 15 min to coax her out. Bama and I had to bribe the child with candy and ice cream. We assured her that it would be so much fun and that she and Ella would be so beautiful together. So reluctantly she agreed to be placed on stage by her daddy. At that point she was doing great the held hands with the ring bearers while coming down the steps. It was super cute. So Bama goes back to tell her how well she did and she gives him this smarty attitude, throws her hand up and says “ Daddy… I got this!” and she did. They did so good and then we ate and things were perfect the rest of the night!

Sat. morning I get up bright and early go down to my grandparents’ house get the trailers and head to the high-school again. This time I check everything double time and am extra careful. We get there set up and……..nothing! No one even stopped for the first hour, after that other families trickled in with all of their goods. I promised myself I wouldn’t even look at what the others had to offer. I was strictly there to sell and make money. After the other families got settled a few customers began to stop but no takers. I had made $7 by 9:30, shortly after a man returned that had purchased a set of crutches from me for $5 and he said that he was to tall for them and needed a refund. Of course I gave his money right back because if he couldn’t use them then I wasn’t going to be a bad person and make him keep them! So by 10:00 I had made $2. Luckily we didn’t get rained on and it wasn’t super hot for most of the morning. By 11:30 I had made a few more dollars but nothing to write home about so we began to pack it up. I had found out the day before that we needed to be at the church for pictures by 3:00. I was pushing the day to the limit again! It was almost 12:00 and we had packed most everything up and a nice little lady and her daughter pulled up. She bought all of the furniture I had, bedding and a bunch of curtains. Thanks to that nice lady my sale was a success!

The wedding needs a post of it own, so this too will be continued…..

A long weekend.... Part I

Get ready for a long read….

I’m gonna jump back to Thursday and catch you guys up on the doosey of a weekend that we had. After work on Thursday I went to get a pedicure, which was relaxing and wonderful. Little did I know I was about to stress myself right back up. Mammie got a new couch this week and of course the first thing that my girls do is try to break it in like trampoline. The girls are at my Mammie and Paw Paw’s on Thurs. afternoon and I get a call from my mom and she says that dad has called her and he can’t control the girls enough to get them to stop jumping on the furniture. Paw Paw had a firm hand when I was growing up but for some reason he can’t seem to put the same force into discipline for his two precious granddaughters? Either way Mammie expressed her deep disappointment in them, over the phone and Paw Paw said that seemed to help with their attitudes. Soon after the phone call their daddy arrived and helped out. When I finally got to Mammie and Paw Paw’s it was time to load the yard sale items onto the trailer. It was terrible having to dodge the rain showers, Paw Paw and I got in an argument of how things should go. We are so much alike that sometimes when we try to do things together it turns into a big mess. Either way everything got loaded and covered in plastic. I loaded two vehicles with stuff and we had two trailers total. I finally got to bed around 11:00 and passed out immediately. Then got up at 5:00 on Friday and began a yard sale…….adventure, I’ll call it!

By 6:00 Mammie and I had everything unloaded and in its place so that we could sit and rest before the crowd pulled in. Hwy 231, which is the main road that runs through the little town that we live in, was super busy with people trying to get to work. People would slow down, a few would stop but most would call people they knew where at home to come on out and buy. Great for me right? So a lady comes buy around 6:30, her husband gave her a call on his way to work and told her to get out of bed and come down. She buys every outdoor toy that I have. Including a plastic, snap-together playhouse in particular. She is driving an SUV that clearly will not hold all of the items she purchased so Mammie offer to go home and get another truck and she volunteers me to make the delivery. No problem! She gets back with the truck and we load it up and I get on the road. The nice lady didn’t live but about 3 mile from the yard sale site, so I am following her SLOWLY. She is not going so SLOWLY and leaves me behind. About that time the playhouse flies off of the truck, onto to 231, almost hits the car behind me and shatters into pieces. I am frantically picking up the pieces apologizing to the man behind me and sweating bullets because of the humidity. After all of the pieces are loaded again the nice lady that purchased the items pulls back up to see the massacre. We get on the road again because she believes we will be able to recover most of the house. Thankfully most of it snapped back together and was able to be salvaged. I am slap exhausted by this point and have made it back to the yard sale. I sit down and am telling Mammie about the fiasco and it begins to pour rain. We jump up and throw everything that didn’t need to get wet in the car. I take Mammie’s car (fully loaded) home to get the other SUV and I accidentally leave the truck keys on the table, which is what my Mammie will use to get home? I make it back to the yard sale and the rain comes to a complete halt. No kidding! Mammie and I decide to stay out for a little longer with just the things that we have left there but we didn’t have any more customer and decided to leave at 9:00. I hook the trailer to my Explorer, on to the house we go……..I’m driving, catching my breath and I fell a large pull backward on my car and I scream! I got the car in park, get out and walk to the back. The trailer pin has come out, I hit a bump and knocked the latch up, the trailer came off of the hitch and is hanging by the safety chain. Lord thank you for the sturdy safety chain! Although when the chain caught it jerked the trailer up under my car and it was stuck under the bumper. WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH ME?????????? A nice man stopped behind me and lifted my car so we could pull the trailer out. We rigged it so that I could make it one more mile to my grandmother’s house. I arrived there safely, no one was hurt, not even my car. It could have been much worse but it left me leery about having the sale again on Sat.! There is more to come we have only made it to lunch time on Fri. This story has to be broken up.

To be continued…..
